JIMBUNAS
"Jimbuna" is an Okinawan dialect for "street smart". Our vision is to raise the next generation of changemakers who are equipped with non-cognitive skills through fun and hands-on learning programs beyond textbooks.
"ジンブナー"とは沖縄方言で ”賢い、知恵のある”という意味ですが、
学校の勉強ができる子 "でぃきやー" とは違う意味合いを持っています。
ジンブナーズのビジョンは、教科書での学びを飛び越えたより楽しく実践的な学びを通して、21世紀スキルとよばれる成績には反映されにくいスキル (探求心、想像力、コミュニケーションスキルなど) を身につけた時代の変革者を育てることです。
OUR STORY
JIMBUNAS Learning Club started in 2020 as an English after-school program to provide local children hands-on activity-based learning of various subjects including music, science (STEM), cooking, art, cultural studies and environmental education in a playful and safe environment.
JIMBUNAS@HOME is an online after-school program spun off from its physical after-school program to offer our hands-on learning activities limitlessly to children in the distance.
JIMBUNAS LEARNING CLUB (ジンブナーズ ラーニングクラブ) は、放課後の時間を利用してより実践的な学びの機会を地域の子ども達に提供する目的でスタートした英語のアフタースクールです。音楽、STEM、クッキング、アート、異文化教育、環境学習などを英語で学んでいます。
JIMBUNAS＠HOMEは学年や教科書の枠にとらわれず子ども達が自ら好きな学びを選択できるジンブナーズのオンラインプラットフォームです。距離や時間の制限なく出来るだけ多くの子ども達に実践学習の魅力をつたえます！

Jade Faith Ho
Hello! I'm Jade. I am originally from Singapore but moved with my family to the UK when I was 20. I've always loved culture and music, and am thankful to have studied that at university. I teach world culture, environmental studies, and also run the JIMBUNAS choir. I'm very excited to meet all of you!
Jesse Spencer
Hello! My name is Jesse! I'm from California in the United States. When I was in school, I always loved math and science, and now that's what I teach at JIMBUNAS! Nice to meet you!
